Aluminum pipe wrenches are incredibly popular due to their optimal balance of weight and strength. One downside is their appeal can make them targets for theft, with opportunistic individuals often opting for the lighter, more portable aluminum units over the sturdier forged steel models. During the mid-1980s, when my employer’s operation ceased, I was fortunate to acquire a truck and an extensive set of tools, which allowed me to start my own venture. While I appreciate the capabilities of traditional pipe wrenches, I’ve found chain wrenches to be a useful alternative—offering similar utility while being significantly lighter.
