Aluminum-Silicon Alloys
Aluminum-Silicon Alloys
Silicon is an important element in many types of aluminum alloys. In casting alloys, Silicon improves fluidity, wear resistance, hardness and strength. In steel coating alloys, Silicon also improves the adhesion between the steel and aluminum alloy layers. Eastern Alloys manufactures Aluminum Silicon alloys for various steel coating applications including a master alloy in the Galvalume process as well as a coating alloy used in Aluminized steel.
