25-pin D-SUB Connector - RadioReference.com Forums
For example, if I assign pin X to be an input function for the dimmer, what do I actually apply to that pin to activate the function? +12 VDC? Ground?
I found this thread which seems to be on the exact same topic, but it's still unclear to me. I don't understand the coffee bean references which may be part of my lack of comprehension. Paging @jeatock if you're still around
Icom D-sub 25pin
I have a F with a handy 25-pin dsub connector on the back. I know Icom sells a GPS unit that plugs into it, but I cannot find any documentation on the pinout for that connector. I think one of the pins is a dimmer and I would like to use that. If anyone has used this connector or can point... There's an OPC-617 that comes out to a DB-9 with:2 - AF Out
3 - Det AF Out
4 - Mod In
5 - PTT In or FTSW In
7 - AF Gnd
8 - Det AF Gnd
9 - Mod Gnd
Do you have that pigtail on the radio?
[add] It connects to an 11-pin jack (J8) on the main board near the front right of the radio, numbered from back to front:
01 VCC
02 DIM
03 HORN
04 GND
05 AFO
06 GND
07 DET
08 GND
09 IN
10 GND
11 PTT
